When Staying Home Safely Takes More Help Than Family Can Give
Your parent doesn’t have to leave the house they raised a family in. ALB provides non-medical home care in Upper Dublin, from help with bathing and meals to a steady arm on the stairs, so a facility isn’t the only option.
We’re family-owned, licensed in Pennsylvania, and have provided home care across Philadelphia and Montgomery County for more than 10 years. Our office is close enough to reach a house in Fort Washington or Dresher the same day, not the same week.
We don’t send whoever happens to be free that morning. Caregivers are matched on personality, pace, and language, then backed with twice the training and four times the check-ins most agencies provide. You also get our leadership team’s direct numbers, day or night.
We know their name, their story, their routines.
Not a case number. A person we genuinely know.

The best of the best alb really cares about their employees, the people they care for and just everyone in general. They are very helpful with everything and treat you like family I recommend them to everyone!
I.V.
I don’t think that I will ever be able to find the words to express my deep gratitude to you for all that you have done for me and continue to do. You are, quite literally, my lifesaver.

How Can We Support Your Family Member?
Your loved one’s care should fit into their life, not force them to give up the routines they love.
Here’s how we shape our care around their needs, comfort, and daily habits.
24-Hour, Live-In, and Overnight Care
- 24-Hour Home Care: Caregivers work in shifts so someone is awake and alert at all hours. Round-the-clock care is the right fit when overnight wandering or repeated falls have made unsupervised hours unsafe.
- Live-In Care: One caregiver stays in the home and handles the full day, sleeping at night. Lower cost than 24-hour coverage, but not the right choice if your parent needs someone awake overnight.
- Overnight Care: A caregiver is there for bathroom trips, repositioning, and getting safely back to bed, so whoever has been doing the 3am walk can finally sleep.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
- Dementia-specific training: caregivers complete Alzheimer’s and dementia care training before their first shift, not general companionship with a memory-loss label attached
- Routine and orientation: familiar daily schedules that make each day feel predictable
- Calm redirection: steady support through confusion, agitation, and sundowning
- Home safety: supervision that reduces wandering and unsafe moments in the kitchen or on the stairs
- Real engagement: activities matched to what they can still do well, not what they’ve lost
Personal Care and Companionship
- Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity intact, plus steady support with walking, transfers, and stairs
- Around the house: meal planning, groceries, cooking, light housekeeping, laundry, and medication reminders
- Out and about: transportation to appointments in Ambler and Fort Washington, errands, and family visits
- Company that fills the day: conversation, hobbies, cards, reading, a walk outside

You Could Be Getting Paid to Care For Your Loved One
If you’re already helping your loved one with meals, personal care, errands, or other daily needs, Pennsylvania’s Community HealthChoices program may allow you to get paid for your support.
Eligible relatives, friends, or neighbors can earn compensation through the program for the care they already provide.
- Getting started
Easy Steps to Begin Home Care
Call and tell us what changed
You reach a person, not a queue. We’ll ask what’s different from six months ago, how the stairs are going, and what worries you at night.
We check coverage before you commit
We confirm Medicaid status and run the Community HealthChoices check against Keystone First, UPMC, PA Health & Wellness, and AmeriHealth Caritas. If your parent qualifies, covered hours often cost nothing out of pocket.
Build the plan around the actual house
Where the bathroom sits relative to the bedroom, which stairs they still manage alone, and what they can still do without help.
Choose the caregiver instead of getting assigned one
Community HealthChoices lets you name someone you already trust, even a relative or neighbor, and we hire and train them. If you’d rather we match, you’ll meet them before the first shift, cleared through Pennsylvania background screening and twice the required training.
We stay involved after care starts
Check-ins run four times more often than the state requires, and you get our leadership team’s cell numbers. Caregivers are paid the moment a shift ends, which keeps the same person in your parent’s home.
Why Upper Dublin Relies on ALB
Families here call us for closer oversight, faster answers, and care that doesn’t route through a corporate call center. It’s the same thing we hear a few miles west from families comparing home care in Whitpain against the bigger regional chains.

A Higher Standard of Home Care
Our caregivers complete twice the training offered by many agencies, while our team follows up four times more often to make sure your loved one is always safe and cared for.
Built From Personal Experience
ALB was created after our founders saw firsthand how disconnected corporate home care could feel, inspiring them to build the kind of agency they wished their own family had.
Call Your Care Team Anytime
You’ll have direct access to our leadership team day or night, so you can get answers quickly whenever you have questions or concerns about your loved one’s care.

Everything You Should Know Before Booking
How much does home care cost in Upper Dublin?
If your parent qualifies through Medicaid, covered hours often cost nothing out of pocket. For private pay, the rate depends on weekly hours and whether you need overnight or weekend coverage, and we’ll tell you the number on the first call.
Does Medicaid pay for home care in Montgomery County?
Yes. Community HealthChoices is Pennsylvania’s Medicaid long-term care program and it covers Montgomery County residents. Medicare on its own is not enough to qualify.
What's the difference between home care and home health care?
Home health is skilled clinical care ordered by a doctor, like nursing visits or physical therapy. Home care is the non-medical side: bathing, meals, mobility, and companionship. ALB provides the second.
Can you send a caregiver who speaks my parent's first language?
Often, yes. We support families in 11 languages, including Russian, Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, and Arabic. Mention it on the first call and we’ll build it into the match.
How fast can care start after a hospital discharge?
Usually within a few days. If your parent is coming home to Maple Glen or Jarrettown from Abington Jefferson or Holy Redeemer, call before the discharge date so the coverage check runs while they’re still admitted.
