Senior Care at Home, from a Family-Owned Delco Team

The worrying doesn’t really stop until someone else is in the house. Home care in Springfield keeps your parent where they want to be, with help through the parts of the day that have gotten hard: the stairs, the shower, the medications, the long stretch after dark.

ALB is family-owned and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We’ve provided home care across Philadelphia and Delaware County for more than ten years, and as the county has lost hospital beds, more of that care has moved into the house itself.

Our caregivers complete twice the training Pennsylvania requires. Our team checks in four times more often than state and federal guidelines call for. You reach us directly, at any hour, with no answering service in between.

Find out why Springfield families have trusted us for more than a decade.

We know their name, their story, their routines.

Not a case number. A person we genuinely know.

“You will come to meet some of the most compassionate and hard-working individuals here”

I cannot thank you enough for your understanding and support through some difficult times. It is refreshing to work with someone who provides the utmost in professionalism and kindness.

H.K.

The best of the best alb really cares about their employees, the people they care for and just everyone in general. They are very helpful with everything and treat you like family I recommend them to everyone!

I.V.

I don’t think that I will ever be able to find the words to express my deep gratitude to you for all that you have done for me and continue to do. You are, quite literally, my lifesaver.

How We Support Safety & Independence At Home

Most families call us about one thing and turn out to need something slightly different. Here’s what each level of care actually covers, so you can tell where your loved one fits before you’re on the phone.

If you’re the one providing most of the care right now, respite coverage can be scheduled for an afternoon or a few weeks.

24-Hour, Live-In, and Overnight Care

  • 24-Hour Home Care: Caregivers rotate in shifts so someone is awake and alert at every hour. Families move to full 24-hour coverage when nighttime wandering, frequent bathroom trips, or fall risk make unsupervised hours genuinely unsafe
  • Live-In Care: One caregiver stays in the home for daily routines, meals, personal care, and household tasks. They take scheduled breaks and sleep at night, so this is not the right fit if your loved one needs true around-the-clock oversight
  • Overnight Care: A caregiver stays through the night for restroom trips, repositioning, and fall prevention, keeping nighttime confusion from turning into a 3 a.m. phone call to you

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

  • The Same Face, As Often As Possible: Continuity matters more here than anywhere else. A new caregiver every week is what turns a manageable day into a hard one
  • Trained for the Difficult Hours: Dementia-specific support including redirection during sundowning, agitation, and moments of confusion, without arguing or correcting
  • Daily Care That Doesn’t Become a Fight: Bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and medication reminders, worked into the routines your loved one already recognizes
  • A Safer Home and an Occupied Mind: Supervision and small home adjustments that reduce wandering risk, plus the conversation, hobbies, and activities that keep the day from going blank

Personal Care and Companionship

  • Hands-On Personal Care: Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene, handled by someone who understands how much dignity is at stake in that room
  • Safe Movement Around the House: Walking, transfers, and getting up and down stairs. Most falls happen on the trips people have made a thousand times
  • Meals, Medications, and the Household: Grocery runs, cooking, hydration and medication reminders, light housekeeping, and laundry that stops piling up
  • Rides and Real Company: Appointments and errands, including the longer drives Delaware County families now make to Media, Broomall, or Havertown for specialist care, plus the conversation, games, and walks that keep a day feeling normal

Could You Be Eligible for Medicaid Home Care Coverage?

If your loved one has Medicaid or qualifies for a Pennsylvania waiver program, some or all of their home care may be covered.

In Delaware County, the assessment that decides waiver eligibility runs through the Office of Services for the Aging. It’s a different office for our families up in Cheltenham  and the rest of Montgomery County, and we’ll tell you what yours will ask before they ask it.

Complete our eligibility form and we’ll check which programs your loved one may qualify for.

Get Paid To Care For Your Family Member

If you already help your loved one with meals, personal care, mobility, or daily routines, you may be eligible to get paid for your support.

Pennsylvania Community HealthChoices lets qualifying relatives, friends, and neighbors be hired as paid caregivers. We handle the enrollment paperwork, and ALB caregivers are paid as soon as a shift ends instead of waiting on a two-week cycle.

How To Get Started with Home Care

Talk to someone who can actually decide things

No call center, no intake script. You’ll reach a care coordinator, and if you need an owner, you get an owner.

Find out what's covered before you spend a dollar

We check Medicaid and waiver eligibility first. For a lot of Springfield families that one answer changes the entire conversation, and it takes a phone call rather than a sales visit.

Choose the caregiver, or bring your own

If a daughter, a neighbor, or a family friend is already doing the work, we can hire, train, and pay them through Community HealthChoices. If not, we match on personality and routine, and we prioritize caregivers who already live near Springfield so the schedule holds week to week.

Build the plan around the house, not just the person

Stairs, laundry in the basement, a bathroom only on the second floor. That’s usually what decides whether your loved one needs someone there at all hours, a live-in caregiver, or help through the night.

Hear from us before something goes wrong

Our check-ins run on a schedule instead of waiting for a complaint, and you’ll have direct numbers for our leadership team from the first day.

Why Springfield Calls ALB Instead of Corporate Agencies

Most agencies covering Springfield run the whole Philadelphia region from one office, which is why a Saturday call-out turns into a voicemail.

We staff county by county instead, with a separate crew for Whitpain and Montgomery County. The caregiver we send to a Springfield home usually lives minutes away.

  • More training and more check-ins than the state requires
  • Screened and cleared before placement, then matched on personality, not availability
  • A coordinator who knows your loved one by name, not a scheduling desk
  • Direct phone access to leadership, not an answering service
  • In-network with Keystone First, UPMC Community HealthChoices, PA Health & Wellness, and AmeriHealth Caritas

More Training & More Check-Ins

Pennsylvania sets a floor for caregiver training and supervisory visits. We doubled the first and quadrupled the second, because the space between meeting the minimum and actually paying attention is where most families get let down.

We’ve Been In Your Shoes

Our owners started ALB after their own parent received sub-par care from a large corporate agency. The caregiver matching, the check-in schedule, the direct phone access: all of it came out of that experience.

Here For You Anytime, Day or Night

You get our leadership team’s direct numbers. Nights, weekends, and the moments when something changes suddenly and you need a real person in Delaware County who already knows your loved one’s name.

Questions About Home Care? We’re Here To Help

Often within a few days. The holdup is usually paperwork on the insurance side, not finding someone, because our caregivers are already local.

Almost always cheaper, because you pay for the hours you use instead of a full monthly rate. If your loved one qualifies for Medicaid or a waiver, it may cost nothing at all.

Springfield Township in Delaware County, plus the townships around it. There’s a second Springfield Township up in Montgomery County, and we cover that side too, along with neighboring Upper Dublin.

Yes. Plenty of our Delco families have an adult child in another state. You get direct numbers and updates on a schedule, not a portal login and a hope.

Yes, and it’s a bigger part of our work since Delaware County lost hospital beds. Discharges come faster now, and we can have someone in the house the day your parent comes home.

Let’s Talk About The Right Care Plan for Your Family

Between the appointments, the medications, and the calls you make on the drive home, most families are carrying more than they let on.

With twice the caregiver training, four times the check-ins, and a local team you can reach at any hour, ALB takes weight off your shoulders without taking over.

Let’s talk about what your family actually needs.
